Biography

Dr Conor Mitchell originally hails from Co. Meath. He studied Medicine in UCD graduating in 2010. Following graduation Dr Mitchell worked in both Galway and Sligo and later did paediatrics in Whangarei New Zealand. 

He later returned to Sligo University Hospital working in neurology, nephrology, gerontology and palliative care and he continues to work in palliative care with the North West Hospice. 

He completed his GP training with the North West training scheme graduating in 2018.  He joined Bayview Family Practice in August 2019.

Dr. Mitchell’s specialist interests include Palliative Care, Sports Exercise and Rehabilitation Medicine, joint Injections, Paediatrics and Men’s Health.  

Dr. Mitchell is a former rugby player having played for both UCD (Colours 2008, 2010) and Mater and St. Vincent’s Hospital Cup rugby teams respectively.

Dr. Mitchell has more recently played for Sligo Rugby Club, captaining the Senior XV AIL team in 2016. He continues to be a keen rugby supporter and provides medical cover at some Sligo RFC home matches.
